Selectboard Minutes - August 4, 2009

Meeting called to order at 7:05 p.m.

Present - Gene Craft -Town Clerk, Selectboard members Vern Stone, Marc McKee,
Rita French and Paul Betters Road Foreman.

Guests - Deborah Kingsbury, Jon Beebe, Garry Thrasher and Danny Ramsrud

Paul reported on the VLCT Loss Control and Hazard Assessment at the Town Garage
and what needs to be done to bring us into compliance. Decision made to
purchase an eye wash system. Briefly discussed sand bids and what roads have
been graded. Also discussed a problem with the packer truck that is probably
electrical.

Jon and Dan came to discuss Durgin Hill road which is a class 4 road and needs
some repair to make it passable. They asked if the town would do the repairs if
they split some of the cost with the town. It was decided that Paul would meet
with them at the road to see just what would be involved before any decision is
made.

Quite a number of our road signs have disappeared. Paul will check on which
ones so that new ones can be ordered. Please stop and think before you remove a
sign. Not only is it an expense to the taxpayers, but it could create problems
for emergency vehicles if signs are missing.

There was discussion about the radios but no decision.

Paul will ask Syd to come to the next meeting with a report from the garage
committee.

Discussion about vicious dog statutes and also unlicensed dogs.

The Selectboard has an opening for a secretary and also an administrative
assistant to the board . These are both paid positions. If you are interested
call any board member or the Town Clerk.

Signed orders.

Meeting adjourned at 8:45 p.m.
